Kobo bald in Europa

Wie Johannes auf lesen.net berichtet, will Kobo auch im europäischen Markt Fuss fassen. Dabei soll Deutschland einer der Schwerpunkte sein. Kobo vertreibt nicht nur Ebooks, sondern hat mit dem Kobo Reader auch ein eigenes Lesegerät.

Es wird also dieses Jahr noch interessant, sollte auch Amazon bald einen deutschen Kindlestore einrichten, könnten zumindest die Preise für die Geräte noch etwas fallen.

Fände es gut wenn der Reader bald nach Deutschland käme. Denn Konkurrenz belebt das Geschäft und der Amazon Kindle kommt ja auch bald. Dann haben wir drei große Ebook-Player in Deutschland und die Preise werden hoffentlich bald fallen...

Denn bevor ich den Preis eines gedruckten Buches für ein Epub bezahle , kaufe ich mir lieber das Papierbuch und verschenke es nach dem ich es gelesen habe

Aber ich hab hier ja noch soviel Klassiker der Kategorie "Muss man gelesen haben" und "Hört sich interessant an".... das ich noch Jahre mit kostenlosen Büchern versorgt bin... Den Rest leihe ich dann eher per Onleihe aus (Nach dem ich die Ausleihzeit verlängert habe , 7 Tage sind ja ein Witz!)

Nur 7 Tage? Bei meiner Onleihe-Bibliothek darf man die Bücher 3 Wochen behalten - das ist mir wiederum fast schon zu lang.

Ich benutze meinen Reader ähnlich wie samy2, aber das eine oder andere Ebook habe ich mir schon gekauft. Ich lese aber schon lieber auf dem Reader und die Bücherregale sind voll. Ich kaufe auch inzwischen gebrauchte gebundene Bücher bei Amazon Marketplace. TB kaufe ich nicht mehr gebraucht, zu schlechte Quallität und sie sind irgendwie eklig.

Ich warte noch auf die Mangelware-Ebooks, mit fehlenden Wörtern oder die gebrauchten Ebooks, wo schmutzige Kommentare vom Vorbesitzer am Rand stehen.

Da muss ich dir wohl zustimmen, zumindest wenn man so die Fotos der Pro Serie sieht, das Gerät ist eher auf dem Niveau des alten 301.

Konkurrent Oyo liegt mit seinem schlechten Display trotz Touch für mich noch deutlich dahinter. Es ist alles eine Frage, wie teuer der Kobo letztendlich angeboten wird. Das Kobo Universum besitzt aber auch noch Apps für andere Geräte, vergleichbar mit Amazon, bietet aber auch Support für Epubs mit DRM und ist damit wesentlich offener als Amazon.

Aber wo ist denn ein Klick-Dingsda für 140€ preiswert? Kann man für 99€ bei ItalicaReader kaufen und dann unterstützt es alle Formate, die Du Dir nur vorstellen kannst.

Ich habe eben mal die Kobo App für Windows Desktop angetestet.
Die ist aber sehr schlicht, kann man nicht vergleichen mit Kindle for PC.

Wenn ich dann noch die Kobo App for Android mit der Kindle App vergleiche...

Ob da der Epub-Support als Vorteil gegenüber Amazon ausreicht?

Na ja, vielleicht ist der Reader da die Nebensache. Wenn es einen weiteren epub-shop gibt, der auch noch ein ähnlich großes Angebot wie Amazon hat, dann kann das ja nur gut für uns sein. Zumal Kobo in den Staaten dafür bekannt ist, ständig irgendwelche Rabattcoupons auszugeben, mit denen man dann zwischen 30 und 50% weniger zahlt. Wobei die 50% wohl nur zum Zuge kommen, wenn man einen Mindesteinkauf von 20$ macht.

Ansonsten darf ich bitten, keine abträglichen Bemerkungen über meinen neuen/alten Hausfreund zu machen, ich habe gerade eben erfahren, dass man mir einen Italica geschenkt hat! Was mich wahnsinnig freut, denn er ist wirklich supervielseitung und zuverlässig und da er bei mir ein schickes Lederhemd (in braun, er ist mehr der Lex Barker-Typ, groß, schlank, muskulös, schlau... im Gegensatz zu diesen Typen in schwarzen Lederklamotten, die ja im Allgemeinen mehr zum Bierbauch neigen) tragen muss, sieht er auch gut aus.

Ok, das hört sich interessant an, aber in Deutschland wird sowas ja wieder schwierig, vielleicht dann fürs fremdsprachige Angebot.
