Comicvine Plugin not being friendly?

Hi, when I add comics, it doesn't download the metadata, but if I edit the metadata of a single comic book and click download metadata it works?

I have 10 000+ comic books I want to add and this could end up painful...

Any help would be super...

Have you tried selecting multiple comics, right clicking, edit metadata and selecting download metadata and covers? You can do this in small batches (large batches tend to trigger DDOS protection).

I haven't touched the ComicVine plugin in years but I seem to remember having to get my own API key as it was incredibly slow without it.

I have the API key sorted. And I did figure out that same trick you mentioned. But I find I have to disable other metadata sources or it gets confused sometimes. I managed to get several hundred done this afternoon.

Good to hear that you are getting a handle on your problem. A thousand a week or so and you'll be done by the new year.

I've tried some improving of the comicvine plugin - and yes, it does need the API key or else comicvine.gamespot throttles requests or even denies them. I am now trying to do a "cleanup" of the code, but still, in the end most issues are with comicvine.gamespot search itself, nothing I can fix on the plugin. Of course, improvement suggestions, code snippets, issues, are all welcome.
