The Trouble Seeker by the late Richard Wormser (SYKM, Wikipedia), a recipient of the Edgar Award for mystery and the Spur Award for westerns, is his vintage standalone western historical action adventure novel, this one the tale of an overinvested ex who apparently assembles an increasingly odd posse upon a quest to take revenge upon his sweetheart, who has unexpectedly left town with another man (possibly voluntarily, possibly not), free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Pioneering imprint.

This was originally published in 1970 by Fawcett as part of their Gold Medal line under the title On the Prod.

Description
Set to marry his sweetheart Helen, trail driver Hank Lowery returns home with riches in his pocket.
