First published in 1912 "The Marriage of Captain Kettle" is one in a series by the British author Charles John Cutcliffe Wright Hyne (1886-1944), who used the pen-names Cutcliffe Hyne and C.J. Cutcliffe Hyne for his Captain Kettle books.

The source used for this version was originally published by the Bobs-Merrill Company of Indianapolis and is from The Internet Archive . A considerable amount of work has been necessary in tidying up the OCR text and restoring italics where possible. Minor errors may still exist and no attempt has been made to replicate the original formatting.

Although the author is British as is the eponymous "hero" of the books, US spelling was used by the publisher and no attempt has been made to change this.

3 July 2019 I have updated this to V2.0 following an extensive proofreading. This mainly corrects OCR misreads and occasional spurious spaces . In addition the title was changed to correct the author's LN/FN which were reversed.
