The hd worked great on the bigger tablet. But, I'm not keen on the way it looked on my N7.

I really like the look of the HD version as opposed to the original, so much so that I removed the old one from my Nexus7. The tabs work well, even on a 7" screen.

I do the same. The HD version would not install on my phone (not listed when I looked for it, appears to be restricted to tablets), so I took the APK from my tablet and manually installed it on the phone, works just as well.

Is anyone using this on the Nexus 4?

I tend to like tablet optimized things when using the Nexus 4 in landscape mode. For example, the tablet edition of swiftkey has a split keyboard that I think is great for thumb typing. I'm wondering if I'd like the tablet tapatalk - I just hate to buy it again if it isn't a good fit for my phone and my fire.
