Noob Question on Word Lookup

Hi -

I just purchased a nook yesterday and I'm loving it so far!

One question I couldn't find an answer to after searching, when I'm reading a magazine the option to do a word lookup isn't available from the touch screen.

It works fine when reading regular books. I'm wondering if it should work with magazines and I'm missing something, or if it just isn't available.

Thanks for any help!

AFAIK, the dictionary is only available with ePUBs, not with PDFs. Why this is so, I have no idea, though. Maybe because navigating the PDF content for word selection can be more difficult, but then they might at least allow one to enter words manually.

Never noticed that, geez, this is insane, why not let people enter words and search at any time.

In addition to not working with PDFs, the dictionary doesn't work with periodicals. That's probably what you're running into.
