Finished the book I was reading this morning, so I saw no good reason why I shouldn't buy and start Dust this afternoon. Serendipitous!

I'm not sure if I'll get around to reading this at the moment, so I'm delaying the decision to purchase.
These days I hardly ever hit the buy button on a full priced book, simply because I can afford to wait. However, if some insane sale hasn't come up by the time I'm ready to read it, I'll buy it at full price without an issue. It isn't exactly expensive. |

Man! It's been longer than I thought. I had to stop and skim over Wool 5 (mainly the end) to get myself "back up to speed."
I think I was still in "Shift" gear or something. It's all good now, though. |

Wait a minute! Not only are you reading a series that's not finished yet, you're also re-reading part of it?! Who are you, and what have you done with DiapDealer?

I thought Dust was the last one?
DiapDealer, I had to go and skim a couple of things from Wool when I finished the last Shift book....and then wait a month or so for Dust to come out. That was a nightmare! |

And "Dust" concludes this series. Besides: I reserve the right to waive my "reading an incomplete series'" rule when an author has proven time and again that he/she releases new volumes in a timely manner. But, otherwise ... yeah ... ya caught me. |

I just started reading it and so far, I am enjoying it. But I am getting the feeling which I often get with series books, where it just doesn't feel as fun anymore. Not necessarily Howey's fault---I often get this feeling with a series that isn't mean to go on forever. It's like the the first book was all about the story and the mood and the writing, and now it's all about plot details and tying up the loose ends. It just feels more like business to me.
