Amazon's website redesign is tablet friendly
Gone are the blue and orange navigation bars, replaced by bigger buttons and less clutter. Simpler is usually better, but this will be a tough change.

Good; I hate side bars. I much prefer drop down menus.

I'll miss the orange and blue. The new site looks generic.

wonder if the video is going to also move away from Flash and over to HTML5? It is not as if they don't want iPad user money and there are plenty of those out there ripe for the poaching.

The "new" site is much too generic. Nothing stands out as AMAZON. It's mostly just BLAH!!

The old one IS too cluttered. The new one looks like they got it out of a e-commerce in a box package. Just insert your logo here.

It looked pretty generic, but I did like the new Cart mouseover - hover over the shopping cart symbol (no "Cart" button) and a drop-down shows you the first 5 items in your cart including their product pictures. |

How do the mouseover bits work with a tablet? Typically, sites which require mouseovers are the opposite of tablet-friendly (until we have "finger over" technology I guess).
