We have the cars, how much does the annual insurance cost ...
me for my 2 year old Prius - around £250.00 ... [for my daughter to drive same and as only driver would be more than £1000 ... ] |

That's one thing for which we in the UK pay a heck of a lot less than people do in the US, due to the ludicrously high personal injury payments often awarded by American courts .

Here in Illinois I pay about half what I did in Texas. Amazing, considering the drivers are even more insane here than they were there.
That translates into $50.00 a month insurance for me. It'd be less if I'd pay it in quarterly or yearly increments, but for budgeting ease, I pay a little more and do it monthly. For comparison purposes, I have a completely clean driving record, and I'm the only one on my insurance, as Chris doesn't have a license (yet). |

I found out that, when I moved to Central California in 2001, my insurance doubled.
Apparently, the reason was that there are more uninsured drivers plus with more people there are more claims. So, the cost of insurance is more. (that was the reason given to me by various insurance companies) |
