iDevice users: I need your help
I'm working some revisions to the Apple device driver, and I need to collect information about the various iDevices so that calibre can recognize them.
If you're willing to help, here's what I need:
I've attached a sample report from my iPad as an example of what I need. Thanks for your assistance. G Last edited by GRiker; 11-30-2012 at 06:18 AM. |

Such an enhancement would be a great idea (and not limited to Bluefire), but I think you have indicated in the pat that you do not know how to send files to specific apps is the API? |

The Apple driver uses app automation to add and delete books to iTunes and modify metadata. The available APIs do not expose any functionality to do file IO with iOS apps other than iBooks. If anyone's interested, you can review the exposed functionality by opening AppleScript (on a Mac) and then opening the dictionary for iTunes.
So itimpi is correct, it's still not possible to talk to other iOS apps through the Apple device driver. At least I don't know how one would do it, and I haven't heard of any other apps doing it. G |

The problem here is that I do not use iBooks because I find the margins to be too large with no way to fix that. ON an iPhone, it's just plain stupid. So if there is a way to find out how to move a book to Bluefire, that would be much appreciated. |

Are you sure the API will not allow one to side load content to apps that allow side loading via iTunes? Bluefire allows side loading via iTunes.

There are many iOS apps that can have content shoveled in through iTunes. But there's no automation interface for that part of iTunes.
There are also many apps that let you see the contents of a connected iDevice, but I'm not aware of any that let you modify the contents without jailbreaking. G |

Can we at least then drag/drop from Calibre to iTunes for apps like Bluefire that allow side-loading?
