Noticed, that H. G. Wells and the others mentioned in my previous mail have been fetched out of "jail".
THANKS! Regards, Kim |

Anything in the offline library that should have been moved to the online library in the past two or three years should be available now. If you find something you think is being overlooked, feel free to mention it here. Contributors who died in 1946 and earlier is the current cutoff (I believe).

Antoine de St Exupery d. 1944. "The Little Prince" can be revived now.
I don't think i posted an epub version back 2012, so once it's back, I'll upload that, also an azw3 version into the Kindle forum. |

What about the translator? I can't check it now, but is it Katherine Woods (1886–1968)?

Yes it is: I applied the "sheep test", and it is her translation.
There we go. Copyright until Jan 1 2039 in L+70; Jan 1 2019 in Canada and NZ and other Bern Convention countries. Back into the offline forum for another 21 years. Thanks for that heads-up Jellby. Most appreciated. |

It's not offline, it's in another server, that's a different issue.

Is it time to move Josephine Tey (Elizabeth MacKintosh) books over?
Wikipedia says she passed away on 13 Feb 1952. They were reviewed recently in the Economist. |

Thanks Jellby, I didn't realise that is based only on the year, not the actual day.

Question and suggestion
Hi — A suggestion: Have you considered posting a master list of when we expect offline books to go live? Presumably that info is known when the book is pulled?
Example: I went looking for the Plato Complete works: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...ighlight=Plato It is offline. Working backwards, this was derived from HarryT's LRF, which was based on the Benjamin Jowett translation. As Jowlett died in 1893 I would have expected this to be online, unless there are illustrations, etc, in which case I'd still expect it to be soon. Tough to know though. I have seen other sources saying it is public domain, but of course I prefer the mobileread edition whenever possible. ☺ Maybe Plato can go back up? |
