Manga book Reader help :)
OK, so i decided that i wanted to buy a new book reader, at first i was set on Nook simple touch, but then i thought about the possibility to read manga on the reader, obviously a 6 inch screen is a bit too small, even with 163 dpi...
First i want to state- I DID read the other threads about this, i just want to ask some questions that fit my needs... i don't have a high budget, max 200$, because I'm not in the us and importing cost's about 50$ through a company, if it's something with free shipping at 250 it's OK too. OK now to the actual questions I was thinking about kindle DX (graphite comes only with 3G, from what I've seen, and it costs about 320+shipment=too much ) would it be comfortable to read manga on this reader? i want to know from people who actually read on it not speculations. e-ink only please, this is one of the reasons i want to read manga on an book reader- EYE FATIGUE. if possible, i prefer a light-weight one. i heard about the iriver, that has an high resolution how's that one? i don't have the best eyes let's say, i have glasses only for the distance but still i couldn't read it if it's too small... to summarize- good E reader for books, mangas, e-ink, light-weight if possible, around 200$. Now, a story about why it's so freaking awesome! (you don't have to read it XD) >I'm American, but i don't live in USA, so basically i don't have to study In English lessons, this is great because the teacher allows me to read books . I asked her if i could read with an E reader, she said YES so I can also read mangas in class :P >End Please help me |

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...70#post1869470 With the large screen size and high resolution (1200x824) on the Kindle DX, I would think the manga reading experience would be very good. Alas, I've no hands-on experience with the Kindle DX. I'm also not sure if it has native support of CBZ/ZIP like the iRiver has. The extra hassle of converting your CBZ files to PDF/MOBI might be something to consider. |

Unless you get a used/refurbished Kindle DX, it's going to be way over your budget, as it's $379 new. All other 9.7" e-ink readers are a similar price.
Also, what country are you in? You probably will get better advice on how to reduce shipping costs by stating your location, or by posting to a forum for people in your country. |

Personally I don't read manga I tried comic books but they are to dark and large for eink and nook touch. Looking at youtube videos reading manga on nooktouch does not seem that bad.

I'm in Israel. i will consider the iriver story and if you have other suggestions i will be glad to hear Please don't offer an ipad, not only that it's not comfortable to transfer books, I'm not the biggest fan of apple let's say in a understatement also i need only an E-ink reader. any other suggestions? OK the iriver looks good with manga, but it has other flaws. according to the video Dopedangel gave it's pretty good on the nook touch, so now my main choices are nook touch and iriver story.
