im using putty right now on windows 7 when i type the 192.168.15.244 ip , port 22 ,
i get a network error that says connection refused

Did you enable ssh on the Kindle?

It doesn't run, just because it is installed.
You can (have to) toggle it on/off.

Ah, the diags sshd might well be using a different IP address.

Run nmap on that sub-net.
You might be "pinging" something other than the Kindle end of the USB cable.

this is sad , why would they remove th ssh access

Check our older (pre-Kubrick) de-bricking threads.
I think we have K4 kernel/diags image file pairs with ssh added back in.
