i just installed Koreader to my Kobo Elipsa with the one-click pack. everything works pretty well, except when i imported my manga, all .cbz files appeared invalid (no book information: not readable by engine). i don't know if this is some kind of bug but i've never seen anyone having trouble with unreable cbz files. do i have to re-install the whole thing or how can i fix?

As @gereksizuser wrote, it might be your .cbz file that has an issue. Maybe its encrypted or has a drm? |

Hey! Quick question, is there an option in KOReader where we can choose between rendering a PDF/Image in BW or in color? I'm asking because depending on the PDF I'm reading, I'd prefer to read it in BW with a 300ppi resolution rather than the 150ppi.
Thanks! |

Perhaps better asked in the KOReader forum?

Hello!
Are the instructions from the post #2 still valid for a Kobo Libra Colour FW 4.41.23145? I'm asking because everything seemed to has been installed fine, but I'm getting some errors, like: 1 - On the home screen: "[KFMon] Internal Storage unavailable, bye!" 2 - When I try to launch KOReader: "Don't panic (Crash no. 1 -> 1)" etc, and something about not finding module 'apps/filemanager/filemanagerconverter' Am I missing something? Thank you! |

I'm using the latest KoReader 2024-11 and I'm encountering a reading problem with an epub. Embedded style is on. But the footnotes are invisible. So when I tap on the right margin to turn the page and by accident hit on a footnote, I get directed to the footnote page. For a fraction of a second a black rectangle appears next to the footnote, but if I miss that, I have to guess on which footnote to tap to return to the text. Any ideas? Could perhaps the active footnote be permanently bold?

It's closer to the opposite. You have to make a special effort to hide 'em from Nickel.
![]() It might not detect them until you plug in a USB cable though. |

The best solution is to add eBooks via Nickel so they get imported and then go to KOReader to read. That will prvent all of the posts about "I've loaded books with KOReader. How do I get Nickel to see them?" questions.

I've gotten a couple of messages from people who seem to want the OCP packages updated to the KOReader 2025-04 "Full Moon" release. I can't really see why since you can install the current package and immediately update OTA. But anyhow, I modified the KOReader and Plato-KOReader packages to add the 2025-04 release.
Edit: removed links to updated packages since they are now available from the links in the first message in this thread. Last edited by DNSB; 04-20-2025 at 09:19 PM. Reason: Removed unneeded links |

I have a brand new Kobo Clara BW 4.41. I tried to install koreader with one-click method, but koreader doesn't open.
I did everyting accordingly. Put the ocp.zip and install.ps1 (unblocked) in the same folder, run with powershell. After installation, I safely unplugged the device. Ah, one question here: everytime I eject the device on Windows, it appears that the device was succesfully ejected, but on kobo it looks as if it is still mounted. So I have to unplug so it can show the update screen. Is that normal? Then, I click on koreader on NickelMenu, but it only restarts the device. The same happens when I click on koreader on My Books. I tried several times, I did the real factory reset through developer options. I heard that some people owning clara bw with the latest firmware are having some issues to that regard, is that true? Could you help me with this situtation? I only get Kobo to have Koreader ![]() |

Unmount is so that it's safe to unplug. The device only knows about unplug.
You can check in the KOReader directory if there's a crash.log and if it says anything. If not then it's not being started. If that doesn't work you can check the syslog for NickelMenu logs, but that's a bit more complicated. |
