What I don't get is the popularity with Bookerly. It's a bland slab serif.

So i made an epub with italics and bold italics and koreader was able to display each correctly, without me having to edit the metadata or filename. Thanks for the help NiLuJe and JSWolf

I may be misunderstanding the use of the hack... Does it allow me to use custom fonts on .mobi files? And if so where do I put the fonts? I've put them in the default kindle font folder and in the /linkfonts/fonts folder but there are no custom fonts available in the Aa menu.

For your device, you don’t need a hack. Just put the fonts to fonts/ directory |

does this work with truetype fonts? (.ttf)
i installed the mrpi package, put my font into linkfonts/fonts, updated the cache, restarted the kindle, but it still doesnt appear i the fonts selection... (i have kindle voyage) |

@T0biasCZe Ever since Kindle released firmware 5.9.6 in 2018, owners of Kindle e-readers have been able to add custom fonts to their devices, including Voyage. This built-in support is much easier. You can switch font during reading; no restart is required.
