questions about drm & calibre

i tried changing the format of a drm/password protected pdf/epub using calibre. but i was told it can't be converted. anyone knows why?

Device: Kobo Aura and Kobo Mini, had a Nook, NOOKcolor, Nook STR.
You have to strip the drm first. It is not legal in a lot of countries so it can't be mentioned in detail here. Personally I'd love to know how to do it as well since I have some kindle books I'd like on my Nook. Some work no problem, but I have a couple that I can't convert.

Maybe somebody in the know could send a pm?

Calibre will only convert non-drmed books. As Care states, you need to strip the DRM before hand.

It would be illegal for Calibre to offer DRM removal, Hence it doesn't, It can be done, fairly simply I believe, and there are plenty of members who know how, I'm sure you'll find an answer, but not Calibre,
