You can still buy the original H2O from Kobo that has a microSD slot. But you can buy the Kobo Limited Edition or the Kindle Oasis 2 both with 32GB internal storage and no card slot.

The ability to have your whole library with you at all times is one of the great advantages of e-books over paper.

It's not that you're going to read them all before you get back home, obviously. You never know when a book is going to come up in conversation (or be referenced on Jeopardy, or in a book you're reading, or whatever) and you're going to want to open it up. And a lot of people don't know which book they're going to be in the mood for next.

A fair point, but it's not something that everybody wants. We need to wait for the original poster to come back to us and tell us his requirements, I think.

Yes, this is a very important point especially when one is reading for actual research and loves to be engaged in it 24/7. Or almost.
