Get the audio of Every Secret Thing, by Ann Tatlock for only $2.99, when you buy the Kindle ebook now for $0.00. If you were to buy the audiobook, by itself, at Audible, it would cost you $19.95 (or 1 credit).

Here are some achievements by the book/ebook:
#1 in Women's Christian Fiction.
#1 in Women's Historical Fiction.
#1 in Christian Historical Fiction (Kindle Store).

Description
When Elizabeth Gunnar accepts a teaching position at the preparatory school she attended as a girl, she revisits ghosts of the past and old self-doubts. But she is returning to more than a place–to memories, mysteries, and an old love. Once there, she meets unexpected challenges—and challenging new people—and she is reminded of the faith that first captured her heart in what she called her “moments of being.” A rich, complex weave of character, mystery and divine epiphanies, “Every Secret Thing” will have you turning the pages late into the night.

370 pages. Has an excellent 4.5-star rating at Amazon, from 93 reviews.

A word about the publisher, Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas (LPC). Christians have adopted the "lighthouse" figure in hymns and such; if you surmise that the LPC publishes for those professing to be Christians, you would be surmising correctly. LPC's publications are "clean." On the webpage for this book, LPC states: "Written for the General Market (G) (I): Contains little or no; sexual dialogue or situations or strong language. May also contain content of an inspirational nature." (emphasis their's).

Here's another buy the ebook for free, get the audiobook for $2.99 deal, from Lighthouse Publishing Company (LPC).

This ebook is authored by Ann Tatlock, also. The ebook is also only $2.99, when you buy the Kindle ebook now for $0.00. The only price given for the audiobook by itself, that I see, is $0.00; however, you must purchase "the Audible Romance Package" (whatever that is) in order to get it for that price.

Here's the description for this book:
New Yorker Neil Sadler returns to his hometown of Mason, Ohio, where the small-town was rocked by the suspicious death of Helen Syfert, the mother of Neil’s friend, Mary. As the pair reconnects, Neil learns their once-close relationship hasn't survived the tragedy of Mary’s loss. In time, though, the couple finds that what pushed them apart years ago now seems to be pulling them together. Still, Neil finds himself struggling to recover from a more recent loss, one he keeps tucked in his heart. While the mystery of Helen’s death remains unsolved, finding closure will require opening old wounds, mending broken relationships, and facing new fears.

This Tatlock ebook has 402 pages. It has an excellent 4.4-star rating at Amazon, from 85 reviews.

The comments about the publisher, that I made in my previous post, also hold true for this book.

You beat me to it. But I don't care, as long as _someone_ posted this! What great deals!

Of course it depends upon whether or not you find an audio book that you like. There are two in the non-fiction genre, but I wasn't interested in either one.

An Example of a Whispersync Deal Available with the World Book Day Promo

Thanks to tubemonkey for the post, above, for me to piggyback on, to give you this WS deal.

An American Princess: The Many Lives of Allene Tew, by Annejet van der Zilt. Kindle price $0.00 + Audible book $1.99 = $1.99 WS deal. Wow!

The Description, from Amazon, of the ebook:
Born to a pioneering family in Upstate New York in the late 1800s, Allene Tew was beautiful, impetuous, and frustrated by the confines of her small hometown. At eighteen, she met Tod Hostetter at a local dance, having no idea that the mercurial charmer she would impulsively wed was heir to one of the wealthiest families in America. But when he died twelve years later, Allene packed her bags for New York City. Never once did she look back.

From the vantage point of the American upper class, Allene embodied the tumultuous Gilded Age. Over the course of four more marriages, she weathered personal tragedies during World War I and the catastrophic financial reversals of the crash of 1929. From the castles and châteaus of Europe, she witnessed the Russian Revolution and became a princess. And from the hopes of a young girl from Jamestown, New York, Allene Tew would become the epitome of both a pursuer and survivor of the American Dream.

If you were to buy the Audible book outright, it would cost you $17.14 or 1 credit!

I just recently learned that not all Audible audiobook offers made along with Kindle ebooks constitute a Whispersync deal--that may be the case here. If such are not true Whispersync deals, all that you lose is the sync'ing ability. You still often can get the Audible audiobook cheaper (sometimes much cheaper, as is true with this deal), by buying the ebook first.

Learn more about the ebook and the cheap WS deal by pointing your browser to the URL for An American Princess: The Many Lives of Allene Tew.

I've noted before that the best Whispersync deals now are almost always those on "Kindle Exclusives." Here is an example, an historical romance.

Winter Cottage, by Mary Ellen Taylor. 4.6 stars, from 464 ratings, at Amazon. 340 pages.

The WS deal is $3.98 ($1.99-Kindle ebook + $1.99-Audible audio narration.

Linky.

To find the Kindle Exclusives that are on sale, get on Amazon's mailing list for them. I'm sure that Amazon will be happy to put you on the mailing list. The specials run for one week, before a new set of marked down Kindle Exclusives is sent out.

(Confession time. I'm on the Kindle Exclusives mailing list, but I fail to check for deals on genres/subgenres that I'm interested in. Making this post has helped me to remember to do that!)

$2.98 WS on Personal Development Bk, by Someone Who's Actually Accomplished Things.

This thread was about to fall completely off of the list of threads (the first page of it) in this forum, so I felt compelled to post a Whispersync Deal to keep that from happening (after I finish this post, the thread will be at the top of the list --for a very short time ).

I am happy to post this one, though. I've known of the author, Bob Pritchett, for quite a few years. He was very important in the development of the stellar Logos Bible Software (Logos now falls under the Faithlife corporation's (Bob was a co-founder of it, and is now is both President and CEO of it) umbrella). I run across a lot of personal development books--most of the time I have never heard of the author, and when I look at the author's bio, it doesn't seem like he's (or she's) personally accomplished very much in life, except for writing that book! You can't think that about Bob Pritchett.

The book is Start Next Now: How to Get the Life You've Always Wanted. The WS deal is only $2.98, although I've posted WS deals that price that gave bigger bang for the buck, looking solely at the page count (this book has only 128 pages).

As far as the ratings are concerned, they're great at both Amazon and GoodReads.

Here's Amazon's description for the book:
You have permission to do something incredible.

Whether you'd like to start a different career, earn greater income, or perhaps accomplish something unrelated to your job, you can do it! And now is the time to start.

In
Start Next Now, successful entrepreneur Bob Pritchett shares his guiding principles, which have grown his company to over 440 employees today. You won't find mere inspirational puffery here. This fast-paced book provides you with an actual plan to start achieving your goal before you even finish reading.

So what are you waiting for? It's time to start next now.

Buy the ebook first, then get the audiobook for $1.99 each.

Quote:
The world is crowded. Far too crowded. Its starving billions live on lentils, soya beans, and - if they're lucky - the odd starving rat.

In a New York City groaning under the burden of 35 million inhabitants, detective Andy Rusch is engaged in a desperate and lonely hunt for a killer everyone has forgotten. For even in a world such as this, a policeman can find himself utterly alone....

Acclaimed on its original publication in 1966, Make Room! Make Room! was adapted into the 1973 movie Soylent Green, starring Charlton Heston along with Edward G. Robinson in his last role.

Night Comes To The Cumberlands: A Biography Of A Depressed Area. By Harry M. Caudill.

WS Deal $3.98 --(book-$0.99 + audio narration-$2.99).

4.5 (176), for the book, at Amazon. 364 pages.

(Please read a couple of notes at the end of this post).

Description
At the start of the 1960s the USA was unquestionably the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world.

Yet despite its prosperity and influence there were areas of the country which seemed to have been forgotten.

In 1962 Harry Caudill, a lawyer and legislator, decided to shine a light upon the appalling conditions which he witnessed in Eastern Kentucky.

His introduction lays out the issues which he saw before him:
A million Americans in the Southern Appalachians live in conditions of squalor, ignorance and ill health which could scarcely be equaled in Europe or Japan or, perhaps, in parts of mainland Asia.

Caudill begins with the history of region, from its first settlements through to the Civil War, the feuds that erupted between violent neighbors, the emerging lumber trade and the advent of the coal industry, before uncovering the devastation of the depression, the effects of massive environmental damage and the ever continuing decline into poverty and despair for many of the inhabitants.

Get the whole deal by navigating to the ebook's webpage at Amazon.

Note:
1) A different edition of this book is also available at Amazon. The Kindle is $5.00; there is no audio mentioned, therefore there would be no WS deal for it.
2) The title of the book paints with "too wide of a brush"--I am very familiar with large swaths of "the Cumberlands" (the Cumberland Mountain range with its Plateaus, which abuts on the west the much better known Appalachians). Not all of the Cumberlands were impoverished. The end of the description (above) delimits the area of the "Cumberlands" that the author almost certainly (I haven't read the book) is talking about--it is the Cumberlands of Eastern Kentucky.

Straight to the point:

There are four "Kindle Exclusives" ebooks in Ian Flemings' "James Bond" series, which have super Whispersync Deals associated with them right now. Each one of the ebooks is $0.99; each one of the audio narrations is $2.99. Ka-ching! WS deals for $3.98 each.

Sorry, but I don't have the GIRl's (Stupid autocorrect: it's U R L ' s!) at this moment.

I suppose that Amazon has bought the reprint rights to these Bond ("_James_" Bond) ebooks, at least, and made some kind of arrangement to use or buy corresponding audio narrations.

Here are all of the Bond (James Bond) Whispersync Deals that I found--two more than I initially found. At least for the purposes of this post, I will consider $4.98 or less a good WS deal. The total WS deal price is next to the title. This time, I've given the URL's for the books:

Moonraker (James Bond - Extended Series Book 3) $4.48
https://www.amazon.com/Moonraker-Jam...s=books&sr=1-3

Goldfinger (James Bond - Extended Series Book 7) $4.48
https://www.amazon.com/Goldfinger-Ja...s=books&sr=1-5

Dr. No (James Bond - Extended Series Book 6) $4.98
https://www.amazon.com/Dr-No-James-B...s=books&sr=1-6

From Russia with Love (James Bond - Extended Series Book 5) $3.98
https://www.amazon.com/Russia-Love-J...IKX0DER&sr=1-7

For Your Eyes Only (James Bond - Extended Series Book 8) $4.48
https://www.amazon.com/Your-Eyes-Onl...=books&sr=1-12

[Note: there appear to be two books here--think of each WS deal, then, as being $2.24!] Octopussy and The Living Daylights (James Bond - Extended Series Book 14) $4.48
https://www.amazon.com/Octopussy-Liv...=books&sr=1-14

@Tarana has a nice post here in the mystery thread, pointing out that (some, many, all, ???) Ed McBain titles are available at $1.99 for the Whispersync version if you own or buy the ebook. And, many Ed McBain titles go on sale for $0.99 somewhat often, and for $1.99 even a bit more often...

As @Tarana points out, there are two McBain titles currently at $0.99, which makes their Whispersync deals work out to be $2.98 total.

As @Tarana points out, there are two McBain titles currently at $0.99, which makes their Whispersync deals work out to be $2.98 total.

The Ed McBain series apparently has been around for a long time; I am glad to know that Ed McBain titles are still in demand.

Why? I used to run a used book business, and had purchased a huge amount of used books by the time that I was forced to cease business (long story). I'm donating the unsold inventory to my local library, and to just about any charity, too, which has a thrift store from which they sell donations, just about as fast as those places will take them. Among the books are a huge number of mass market paperbacks in the Ed McBain series.

I almost can't stand to throw away a book, or see one thrown away. I knew that the series was old, and I had wondered wondered, many times, if the library and charities have tossed them straight in the garbage after getting them from me. Now I have hope that the library is actually able to use them--preferably on their shelves but, if not, at least in their little used book sale room. Maybe the charities will be able to sell them, too.
