Nook STR-Any way to skip registration?
I have no wifi and won't for the next couple of days and I would love to be able to actually use my new reader (received today). Does anyone know of a way to bypass this?

Maybe you could go to a B&N store and use their wifi to register your new reader.

I don't know the process, but strongly suspect there is one, and that it will be some variation on this: http://nookdevs.com/NookColor_Factor...Box_Experience
It has been found that holding down the right page turn button and then tapping "next" on the initial screen brings up a device info box. I would start with holding that button and tapping first the lower left, then the lower right corners of the screen. The process for generic Android would be to tap each of the four corners beginning with the upper left and proceeding clockwise (without holding any buttons). May as well experiment with these methods and try to add to our knowledge of the device--what else are you going to do with it? |
