Putting .pdf files on a kindle

I have several study guides that are currently in .pdf format. Can I and how do I transfer them from my PC to my Kindle. Thanks for the help

Connect the cable to your PC and open "Windows Explorer". Your Kindle will show up as a hard drive. Copy and paste the files.

Then be prepared for a not too pleasant reading experience.

(Of course, you may get lucky and your pdf's will happen to be formatted just the right way)

You can also send the PDF as a file attachment to your Kindle's '@kindle.com' email address (if the sender address is 'authorized'), and that's often more convenient than hooking up wires. If you have a 3G model, use the @free.kindle.com address to avoid 3G delivery charges. (wifi delivery is free)

It often helps to crop the PDF before putting it on Kindle to eliminate redundant information and make the most of Kindle's small screen. It will automatically trim whitespace in fit-to-screen and fit-to-width modes, but if you crop the headers/footers it will be more likely to be readable without zooming.

PDFs should be placed in the "/documents" folder on the Kindle and not at the root level.
