Hi coplate thanks for the information. The upgrade went smooth, but still wait for abt 48 hours for everything completely settled (as suggested by Amazon's reps).

Even with a zillion books on the device, 24 hours should be long enough (just keep it on a wall charger during that time).

If you do have a zillion (or some large number) of books on the device, you could check if the trick for checking the indexer progress still works -

Bring up the search function, search for something you know can not be found (some random string of characters).
If not found and the indexer is still working, the 'not found' message will report how many things remain to be indexed.
If not found and the indexer is finished, there will be nothing about the number of things indexed shown in the 'not found' box.

And if the indexer has finished, the device is ready for use.
