Traditional Chinese Character, PW2
Hi guys (sorry for crossposting)
I have a problem on my PW2 (no jailbroken) with traditional chinese character, I can't look for dictionary definition (Simplified chinese character works great), but I don't know if it depends because it is a book I converted from pdf, or because amazon dict (I have many chinese english/ english chinese dict ) does not support it. It is strange because the dicts I installed seems to have also the traditional character definition. Can you guys test it? I share my personal folder on dropbox where there are the .mobi and the original PDF file. Converted mobi (PDF>TXT>MOBI) Edited the metafile to English language following this topic instructions https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=157742 .MOBI https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...Ouspensky.mobi Original PDF file (no drm) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...O%20END%29.pdf PS: the mobi is converted very bad, I m still learnin how to do it, I came from iphone and ipad but since I am computer specialist I prefer to use the e-ink for preserve my eyesight Thanks!! All your links are broken. If your .mobi file doesn't exceed the size limits for attachments and isn't copyrighted, you can also attach them to your message.
As for your problem, I've got a couple of questions for you: 1. Did you actually download all Chinese dictionaries? (AFAIK, there's one for Simplified Chinese and one for Traditional Chinese.) 2. Does dictionary lookup work with other Traditional Chinese books that you didn't create yourself? AFAIK, it's not possible to set sub-languages in Calibre. However, you can use Java Mobipocket Metadata editor to change the language code to a variety of Chinese that requires Traditional Chinese characters, for example, Taiwan: Code:

As I suspected, the language code of your .mobi file is set to US English.
Try changing it to Chinese (Taiwan) with Java Mobipocket Metadata editor. |
