I've tried it. I wouldn't say it's a bad feature, but usually I'll go for one or the other, not both.

I cant seem to get the ebook & audiobook to sinc?????

I cannot get plain-vanilla-text-to-speech to work on my Fire Gen 2!!

Yes I did, and they are non-DRM protected mobi files that do text-to-speech just fine on my eink Kindles.
