Thank you for reminding me about this series! I had forgotten I owned the ebooks. I'm going to get the audiobooks now.

Finished up the Sten book - Revenge of the Damned. It took elements from pretty much every WW II prisoner of war escape (The Great Escape, Colditz, Raid on Cabanatuan) plus elements of the War in the Pacific during WW II.
There are actually 8 books in the series. I liked the first 5 books, but after that, the series slowly started to slide downhill. I'll probably pick up the remaining 3 if I can get them for a good price just to have the complete set. Next up, I'm trying to decide between Sutherland's "Into the Dark", the first of the Alexis Carew series (think sailing ships in space) and Foward's "Villains by Necessity". We will see which one I'm in the mood for the next time I get in the car. |

After listening to the mediocre at best Dragon's Code by Gigi McCaffrey, and the NLBC selection this month from John le Carre discussed in the thread, I needed a sure winner, so went with Georgette Heyer's The Foundling. Very well read by Phyllida Nash, and pure fun.

I'm listening to yet another Wodehouse, Big Money, read by Jonathan Cecil. I'm going to the Wodehouse well way too often, but when I'm looking for something light for listening to in bed, it's just so darned easy. However, in my chronological Wodehouse quest it seems as if I'll have to read the next few, so that will force me to get outside this habit. |

Good to hear that Sinise was terrific. TwC is on my short list, and will likely get listened to as soon as I finish The Foundling. (I wonder how it would do as a swimming book? I'm currently reading an Alexander Kent there.)

Went with Into the Dark since I had just finished re-reading the other as an e-book. So far, I like the reader.

Almost done with listening to The Thief Of Time by Terry Pratchett. Some of the plot confuses me, but sometimes you just have to listen to Pratchett's stories a second time. Anyway, I love the Igor stuff in this.

Amazing how those navy books work while you're swimming, eh? I suspect this will be my last summer with Jack and Stephen. I'm not sure this is exactly what you're looking for in a swim listen; it's not hard but it is serious much of the time. His interactions with Charley, however, are delightful.

Quite enjoying The Diary of a Bookseller. I get the impression his place may be a bit... quirkier than others, but that largely adds to the charm.

I wasn't reading or listening to anything for a while after finishing up The Shiva Trilogy in print (er, pixels) and the Welcome to Nightvale podcast, which barely counts anyway, and I found myself in a bit of withdrawal. The Shiva Trilogy makes for great fantasy reading, btw, even though the author sees it as an inspired religious text. It's written as a straightforward adventure series - kind of a much less cringey Hindu version of Left Behind (several of which I did read as a teen).
A show I won't name because doing so in this context would be a spoiler put me strongly in mind of Neal Stephenson's Seveneves, and I've picked that up for a re-read / listen (whispersync). I'm thinking I might plow straight into Anathem, my favorite Stephenson novel which I'm pretty sure I've only read once, when I'm done. |

Finished In to the Dark. Very well read.
On to Villains by Choice. The first hour has been pretty good. |

I'm glad to see you posting again, SeaBookGuy. I have enjoyed your recommendations in the past. I just put this one on-hold at my library and am looking forward to listening to it.
