The Rhythm Nation stands ready to serve!
Declaration of the Rhythm Nation
As duly-registered soldiers of the Rhythm Nation, and its volunteer reserves (i.e., those of us who don't dance so hard anymore), we hereby pledge ourselves to the President-elect and his new administration, as foot-soldiers in the War For Change. As its servants, we hereby pledge to:
We call people of the world today who are looking for a better way of life to be part of the Rhythm Nation. We call the people of the world to unite, for in strength of numbers we can get it right. (Pick it up!) Be a part of the Rhythm Nation.
We call people of the world today who are looking for a better way of life to be part of the Rhythm Nation. We call the people of the world to unite, for in strength of numbers we can get it right. (Woo!) The Rhythm Nation's official motto: Sing it if you want a better way of life. The Rhythm Nation's unofficial motto: We're putting the "cool" back into black military fatigues and synchronized dance! Not the Rhythm Nation's motto: "Oh no you di'n't!" Motto the Rhythm Nation wished they thought of first: Tippecanoe and Tyler too! |

I pledge to go dancing at a new bar opening tonight where Tim's cousin's band will be playing.

Can you honestly say that you wish we didn't have Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Nevada? Not me! I like the Grand Canyon, Hollywood, and gambling. Also it's nice to have TX and NM, you know, to finish the collection and make a complete set. |

Well, he was a WWII General. So we're back to square one.
Okay, how 'bout this, a NEW motto that Rhythm Nation wished they thought up first: "Keep your head to the sky." -suggested by the official Rhythm Nation Drum and Bugle Corp, also known as Earth, Wind and Fire Woo! Last edited by Steven Lyle Jordan; 11-07-2008 at 11:19 AM. |

List of issues to be targeted by the Rhythm Nation:
People moving out, people moving in. Why, because of the color of their skin. Run, run, run but you sure can't hide. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Vote for me and I'll set you free. Rap on, brother, rap on. Well, the only person talking about love, Dad-gummit, is the preacher. And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the teacher. Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration, Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation. Ball of confusion. Oh yeah, that's what the world is today. Woo, hey, hey. The sale of pills are at an all time high. Young folks walking round with their heads in the sky. The cities ablaze in the summer time. And oh, the beat goes on. Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul. Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon. Politicians say more taxes will solve everything. And the band played on. So, round and around and around we go. Where the world's headed, nobody knows. Oh, great GoogaMooga, can't you hear me talking to you. Just a ball of confusion. Oh yeah, that's what the world is today. Woo, hey, hey. Fear in the air, tension everywhere. Unemployment rising fast, the Beatles new record's a gas. And the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation. And the band played on. Eve of destruction, tax deduction, city inspectors, bill collectors, Mod clothes in demand, population out of hand, suicide, too many bills, Hippies moving to the hills. People all over the world are shouting, 'End the war.' And the band played on. Great GoogaMooga, can't you hear me talking to you. Sayin'... ball of confusion. That's what the world is today, hey, hey. Y'know,,, it amazes me sometimes, how there are very few issues in this song that are not still serious problems today... WOO. |
