[Kobo Store] Can I add funds to 'Store Credit'?

For video games, both Steam and GOG have the option to add funds directly to your account to be applied to the next purchase. (This is useful as one of my survey sites provide virtual prepaid credit cards and splitting purchases between different payment methods isn't really possible.)

In the Kobo settings, I see there's a "store credit," but can't find a way to add funds to it. Is it possible, or is this only for gift cards and refunds?

I did consider buying a gift card with my prepaid card, but then I'd end up taxed 15% on both the giftcard and whatever book I wanted to buy. Ouch!

You will not be taxed on the gift card.

That might be an error on Kobo's part. I'd suggest contacting them.

From the Gift Cards item on a canada.ca web page, I see the following:

Quote:
When you buy a gift card, you don’t pay tax on the gift card. The retailer will charge tax when you buy a taxable item with the gift card. For example, you pay tax on a sweater you buy with a gift card, the same as you would when you pay with cash or credit.
The help screenshot also seems to show that the purchaser address has not been entered so that might be a default until you enter that information.
