Favorite font (and settings) for reading? (Boox Note family)
Today I'm going to post a series of short questions about the Boox Note (running the latest firmware from June 2019).
Taking advantage of the support of external fonts, I've installed an old version of Rockwell, which looks a lot like Kindle. Not bad but very 2009 and I'm wondering what people like today. My settings: image contrast=2 from the left, bold=0, line spacing=3 (on that screen it's a different scale!), paragraph spacing=3, horizontal spacing=6 What is your favorite font, and how do you set it up? (Image Contrast, Bold, Line Spacing, Paragraph Spacing, Horizontal Spacing.) Thanks in advance. Wishing y'all a fun weekend! |

Old thread but thought it was still pertinent.
I use AndikaInk: Dont find that I need any contrast with this font. Line Spacing = 0 Paragraph Spacing = 0 Vertical Spacing = 4 Horizontal Spacing = 4 Embolden = 1 These settings are in the built in Neoreader. Last edited by Guns4Hire; 12-25-2019 at 03:07 PM. |

Thank you very much for the tip. Will give it a go. Also planning to try exo, which I found mentioned on a different thread.

I loved Bookerly for years, but have switched to Literata https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Literata
Both are great, but I think Bookerly is better for work reading (slower reading, taking in all the words) Literata leisure reading (enjoyable and easy to read at pace). I mainly read for pleasure on my Poke Pro so Literata is the better choice for me. In Moonreader my settings are font: 20 paragraph spacing: 70% line spacing: 4 margins: 20 left justified (massively prefer this to justified, which tends to be the default and is difficult to change in some devices/apps) I also strip all custom formatting from books in MR |

Both were created for e-reading. I'd steer clear of fonts that aren't as some of the purpose designed fonts are great.
I like Rockwell, but only ever used it as a title font for print/web and think that's all it was designed for. |

@rowe
WOW! Both Literata and Bookerly are spectacular. Ditching Rockwell. It will be hard to choose between the two, but will start with Literata, since it's the one you've opted for. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Last edited by playful; 12-25-2019 at 06:32 PM. Reason: Remove signature |

@JSWolf
Fantastic. Thank you so much for making me aware of it. Installed… Looks beautiful! Will be testing alongside the other two — with Italian text, curious to see how all three compare with regards to ácçènts. ![]() |

I still prefer AndikaInk in most situations but thanks for the suggestions on ChareInk.

I think I had the no weight installed. When I used the other one it looked a ton better. Going to use it for a bit. Definitely be my go to more.
