Jackson Dr. trial ereader lockdown!
This guy I know got jury duty at the wrong time and ended up in the jury pool for the Michael Jackson's Doctor case. They were locked down with no cell phone use and no laptops.
Bad news for the guy who brought a book to read on his iPad. No go! I don't know if they allowed Kindles. The next time I get jury duty, I'm taking my 1st generation, no wifi Kobo! |

Did this mean they were unable to access anything when not in court?

When I got "called up" to do me duty, I found a few of my fellow citizens had trouble accessing their own brains.................

Thank goodness for Gen 1 ereaders! I have a couple to choose from, but I can feel your friend's pain.
Funny, I had the same experience when I was called. |

The may prohibit all such devices, not wanting to be bothered checking the technical specs of every device. Ereaders are still foreign to many people. The media ban would only last overnight if they were sequestered and put up in a hotel. That happened to me when I was on the jury of a murder trial. Guy was guilty, though the victim had it coming.
