Flash 10.1 for OS X released

This addresses the latest Flash Player security flaw and should have some significant performance improvements (though not yet the video GPU acceleration "Gala" version made possible by Apple's recent exposure of key API's - that version's still prerelease).

But they have also (finally!) fixed one annoying feature for Mac users: keyboard navigation in text/edit controls now complies with OS X conventions, as it is now a full-fledged Cocoa app.

This in addition to the 10.1 feature enhancements, some of which are summarized here:

Flash Player 10.1 Now Available for Windows, Mac, and Linux

and also a longer list here:
Flash Player 10.1 Features

Note that this also integrates a new text layout engine that "delivers advanced, easy-to-integrate typographic and text layout features for rich, sophisticated and innovative typography on the web. Create multilingual web applications using device fonts that can now be anti-aliased, rotated, and styled, or build your own unique text components."

Coincident with this is the release of AIR 2.0, which leverages all of this. I'm hoping that means that a new Adobe Digital Editions release is imminent that will finally have full Unicode display support, if not the typographic enhancements that are now possible with the new text layout engine.

I should add, "it is about time..."

BTW I'm looking for some good web sites that measure Flash performance / benchmarks. Any suggestions?
