Just as they seem to be getting the Fire under control
in the Four Mile Canyon area nw of Boulder we've had another break out west of Loveland (not the ski resort) and evacuations have been ordered there as well.

wow! it's really headed east then huh?

when I was in college, we lived in married student housing right there on 30th street and had a really awesome view of the frontrange. that was when the fires first started up there so badly, we could see the front range glowing at night. I was also in Rocky Mountain Rescue at the time so spent a lot of time banging on doors and fighting in the secondary lines.

Rocky Mtn Rescue......so are you familiar with Arapahoe Rescue Patrol?

That's where my Alaska Trooper son got his start down that sort of life-path...

Based in Littleton. It's a group made up of High School Students.

Just watching the news coverage of the new fire....pretty intense again, but wind is not as big a factor as the Four Mile Canyon fire....Still the humidity is so low and everything so dry...

nope, Littleton was a little far to respond to most of the RMRG responses. we worked a lot with the folks out of Evergreen, and most of the Nederland responders were also RMRG members

Just talked to him (son) on the phone...he's being sent to Hoonah, AK (population 800) for a week. The two police officers in the town were killed by a wacko a few weeks ago (the wacko was arrested) but the town is in need of some trooper/police help apparently...
