My handmade Book Cover for PRS-300

Just want to share with you the book cover I made for my PRS 300.
In fact, I'm really not good at sawing... It's been long time since I learnt sawing in Secondary school.
I like girly thing and like to have my book look as fancy as possible.
This is my third attempt:

Is that a standard Sony cover and if it is do the magnets still hold it closed?

Yes, I have a standard Sony cover. The magnets do not hold it closed if I put in the fabric so I add a elastic band to make it keep close.
How to make it? Well, I have some net resourses... I'll show you later.

For this one I don't need to use the standard sony cover.
But it's very troublesome to make. And I cannot wash it if it gets dirty...
Um...

what kind of fabric cover. which stationery store . actually i bought a executive jacket from m-edge my problem is t is too heavy i am getting wrist pain to hold it and read as i can read it on an angle because of the glare of prs-600. i am finding it very difficult to read using the m-edge jacket. so i want to find an alternative which feels like a jacket but not on the heavier side.

I don't know the exact term to describe the term , and I just bought from local stationery store.

Home made covers

I just sent my mother a link to your post. I just got her a PRS-300 and a Sony cover, she is pretty handy with the old needle and thread. Hopefully she can use your cover as an inspiration. Thanks for the post.

Regards, Daryl

Thanks you!
After all these trials, now I settled with the dark blue one + sony cover. It does not look so dirty with use.
It's kinda fun to look out for fabrics and play with the sewing machine. But I get tired of needlework very soon. I still prefer to spend all my time on reading afterall!

The more I use it, the more I realise that the PRS-300 is just the right size for ladies! I can (barely) grab it with one hand. I read with small size fonts(Japanese font size 14 but it look like size 11-12 for a regular computer screen). I have no problem with the screen size at all when I get absorbed into the content.

A reference link on Youtube on how to make book cover.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pGO0gsZP-A
I didn't make it in this way though. I sew the 2 fabrics together(sew the elastic band and lace inside at the same time. And in advance I'd iron a backing sheet to make the fabric harder. I like check patterns as you see... The squares also serve as a ruler for me to keep the sewing line straight) and leave one side opened. Then I flip it inside-out and close the open edge. Well.. it's difficult to explain in words. Hope you get what I mean.
