MR London readers, where to get the Aura downtown?
I am thinking of taking the plunge for my husband, and will be in London for a raid over the week-end: any sure hit suggestions or where to find a store with several Auras to try and buy? Is the "register in store and get £5 off" promotion still on? Possibly in WC1 postcode area (Trafalgar square, etc).

thanks Ron, I know that, but e.g. I had a hard time finding it in Edinburgh, and I wanted if possible to go to a store with many devices so that in case we pick a wrong one i can substitute it there and then. If I had time, I would not mind trying a few shop, but I am there for other reasons, so I'll only be able to try one store, and I'd like to make sure I find it first time - I read here on this forum that a guy who bought it in London had to try several places, but can't remember which ones, and things may have changed in the meantime, which is why I was asking.

I don't know the answer to your question, Paola, but if you go to the WHS website and look on the Storefinder page you can choose 'Greater London' and/or 'London' in the Browse by County box. The stores listed have a 'K' icon which shows whether they're Kobo stockists or not.
If I had to guess - and only had one-shot - and it was convenient - I think I'd try the Oxford Street branch. But it is only a guess. |

After explaining about the specialising branches of WHSmith the chap I asked found he had one in stock anyway, a Kobo Aura that is. But bigger is better, of course, chance wise.

WHSmith Stores that should have the Aura in stock near Central London are the Westfields White City, Oxford Street, Wood Green, Stratford Westfield and the older Stratford Center stores.
You could also try Hammersmith, Ealing and Richmond store. These stores all have the Kobo shops-within-shops inside them. I spoke to a member of staff in one of the branches and they informed me there is a lot of Aura stock around. |
