Do you have updates blocked? My Oasis 2 (2017) is on 5.16.2.1.1 and it has received the DRM update.

No, not really sure how to do that as I seem to have lost any tech skills I used to possess. I managed to get the book downloaded to the Oasis and quickly went back into airplane mode. Had to delete a partial update file and I was rather anxious to just get the book before the new update killed the Oasis but I’m happy to say it worked. In a rather interesting turn of events I had to sideload it to his kindle anyway as he’s still reading some borrowed books!

Being on that earlier firmware, you can probably get a book before a firmware update can get in there. Unless at some point they require a firmware update before letting you download the book. My Oasis 2 immediately got the new DRM when I downloaded a book. My Paperwhite 2 (in spite of being on 5.12.2.2 which others have reported getting new DRM) remains uneffected even though I've downloaded books and haven't always kept it offline. After the Oasis getting it, I thought the Paperwhite was doomed. I wasn't worried about it since my purchases were already backed up, and I don't plan on getting any more books from Amazon.

You can either jailbreak it or use the new Windows Kindle app and remove DRM with Satsuoni's tools.

Thanks. I am using the latter method. I wanted to let others know that the PW2 should be added to the list of devices that no longer work for this.

Guess what?
I tried to send a book from KU to K4W and got this message: Due to device compatibility and rights management, we cannot guarantee all titles will arrive on your device(s).

And my K4W no longer appears on the list of device choices.

I found it rather funny that my K4PC apps appear as applications but K4W showed up as a device. After 1.0.18632 update, it moved to showing as a application. I did test a couple of the books that were not downloadable on my old K4W install and the samples now downloaded but then the other four books came up with the same not supported error.

I'm looking for confirmation if if there are any working versions of K4PC for Windows 10 (July 10 2026) or if it's actually fully dead. A few places dated early July 2026 said the Windows store should be compatible with Windows 10, but it doesn't appear to download:

K4PC 2.9.1 is still working for me. True, I have Windows 11, so I don't know if you can use it on Windows 10, but I don't see why not. It's not a store app.

Thank you. I found a version of K4PC 2.9.1 from https://www.epubor.com/latest-versio...p-to-date.html

For documentation purposes:
I installed it on my Windows 10 laptop. I had to run it as Administrator to log in and view my content, but probably because I had some older K4PC configuration files hanging around.
