Newbie Question: PDF ebooks any good on Palm and pocket PC?
Hi,
I'm looking for a mobile device to read ebooks (mainly PDF). I'm not interested in the iRex - too expensive - while it's still unknown if and when the Sony Reader and the Jinke will become available where I live (Belgium). Therefore I am wondering if buying a Palm or a pocket PC might be a good solution for reading PDF files. I know it's technically possible to run PDFs on these handhelds but is it really useful? The screens are so small... And what about power consumption? Anyway, I'd like to get some advice from experienced Palm and/or pocket PC users. Your response is greatly appreciated. Marc. P.S. Sorry, moderator. I guess I posted this in the wrong forum (I meant the other e-book readers forum). Feel free to move it. Last edited by marc59; 04-10-2006 at 05:31 AM. Reason: Explained below |

PDA's (whether PalmOS or PocketPC) are not a good solution for reading PDFs. You'll end up scrolling and zooming way too much. Actually, I have yet to see a good solution for reading PDFs on a portable device.
