PocketBook 903 Calibre recognizes main mem as card

Hi

just connected my new PB903 with a 8GB mSD card. PB903 is identified as H: and the SD card as J: in my Win7 system. When connecting to Calibre the SD card is identified as main memory and vice versa. Can I change that somewhere?

Here the report from Calibre (see bold line below):

Version: 0.8.26

calibre relies on the device to correctly assign the lower drive number to the main memory. From that debug output your device is not doing that. J: has drive number 0 and H drive number 1. So calibre is correctly setting J as main memory. There's no way to change that, short of editing the source code.

Thanks - understood. I already changed the drive numbering (H:\\<->J:\\) within Windows but this obviously did not help.

Let me check with PB if this is the standard way of the PB903 to do the drive numbering.

May I join in with a maybe dense question? Does this configuration mean that Calibre would send books to the sd-card as it is recognised as the main memory? If this is the case I think this is what most users wish Calibre to do as they store their books on the sd-card and not on the device.

Involuntarily - yes - main memory is card and vice versa.
@Billi: see you in the German fraction of Mobileread!

Special File

What about using a special file in the main memory directory? I tried it with a modified version of the "copy cover to device" plugin: the main memory has a "system" directory, the memory card has not. Of course: this will only work if there is no system directory on the memory card.

Maybe a special ".is_ebook_reader" file can help, like the ".is_audio_player" used e. g. by banshee (see https://live.gnome.org/Banshee/Commo...udioPlayerFile). It can be used for organization of directories and prefered file types for this device too.

Hi I have the exact problem with PB902. Kovid Goyal is NOT going to fix this. changing drive letter mapping does NOT help.
do you any suggestion or workaround? is it very bad. you copy ebooks until the main mem is completely full. the sd card remains untouched and nothing more to do.
