Not as such, there's a comprehensive set of command line tools.

Much appreciation for that link. Still, if the environment itself is far
from a low graphics one, I am unsure if those command line tools would
be especially helpful. granted I am profoundly new to the family, but I
am wondering if there is a process for developing an edition in say DOS?
Which is itself still under development.

Calibre uses the Qt framework to do a lot of the UI heavy lifting, I don't know if Qt can target a DOS (character mode) platform - I suspect not, but have a look for yourself ==>> https://www.qt.io/

Well, that is something to share with both the dos ain't
dead list, and the developers of freedos...although that is
not the edition of DOS I run. Still, it does say all
platforms so, there is a tiny light of hope. Kare
