I'm sorry to lower the tone of these requests, but has anyone found a good e-book version of Milton's Paradise Lost?
The Gutenberg one is a bit lackluster and not much of a joy to read. I believe, however, it is out of copyright in the EU too. |

3em spacing between paragraphs is unreadable because the spacing is huge. 15% margins is a huge waste of screen space. And the bigger the screen the worse it gets. If anyone used your preferred settings on an eBook sold by Amazon and I bought it, I'd raise a KQN to get it fixed.

How outrageous must I make the stuff I post before you get that I'm pulling your leg? Should I have talked about 50% margins? And 20em paragraph breaks?

Any chance of Ann Veronica by H G Wells in epub?
Not posting much on MR - have broken arm and hate typing with one hand! Thanks. |

I'm out this time, I'm afraid.
Too bad about your arm. Hope it isn't too bad and healing well! |

Dan Billany's novel/memoir The Cage might be public domain by now, but perhaps there are special rules there.
Billany was a successful novelist who was captured in Italy in WWII. He escaped from his POW camp, and attempted to cross the Apennines to the Allied lines, but he was never seen again after December 20th 1943. It was assumed he died in crossing the mountains in winter. The book was controversial at the time as Dan co-authored the book with his lover, David Dowie, who was imprisoned with him and disappeared at the same time. The Commonwealth War Graves list his death as 1st January 1944 and as no-one has disputed that since, I'd say his novels have been in the public domain in life+70 countries since 1st January 2015.
