iOS 14: Any issues, please post here!

Can you please post any issues you are having with iOS 14. We are actively fixing some bugs that have been identified but it seems CC is having troubles on iOS 14. Cannot connect to my Mac at all. The synch screen just churns away endlessly, until I force quit. OS on both iPad and Mac fully up to date.

How are you connecting? I've been able to connect both ways. If you are trying to connect via content server, then see if you can connect via browser. If you can't, then there is a problem with calibre on the mac. (what version of calibre do you have? I have not updated 5 yet)

I downloaded Calibre 5.0.1 and Calibre Companion no longer was able to open books to transfer to iOS (my iPad or iPhone). All my iOS is up to date. Connection works and the listings are all there.
I can access my Calibre library and SEE the lists of books, but clicking on any book goes to a page that says LABEL. None of the metadata information or the option to Download or Read is there as before. It is still in my computer library, of course. I found a solution by downgrading Calibre to version 4.23. |

After updating iOS to 14.0.1, I was unable to put new ip address in CC to allow me to connect to Calibre. The keyboard on my iPhoneXR locks up and CC is frozen. I reported this to Alex 2 weeks ago. The strange thing is this does not happen on my iPad Pro, just the iPhone. I'm able to get books from the Calibre server, but this eliminates CC and I don't want to do that. I have the latest CC version on both iPhone and iPad. Alex told me that there was a definite problem with iOS 14.0.1, but 2 weeks is a long time not to get a fix.

I find it amazing that the last 20 reviews for CC show 20 5 star reviews left on the same day.
How does that happen? And a month before that, there were 10 5 star reviews, again, all left on the same day. So the last 30 reviews are all 5 star. . Last edited by Deskisamess; 10-04-2020 at 07:39 PM. |

I confirmed that with the current version of CC and Calibre 5.1, you can do a wireless sync, but you can not do a content server sync.

Mac OS - 10.15.7
Calibre on Mac - 5.2.0 CC on iPad mini 4 - 2.0.15 Still no connection, either by wireless connection or content server. |

There is a FIXED bug in Calibre5 that made it send all Metadata again, but not a fail to connect.
I also suggest you snoop your network (look at connections in the router) and see if the Server and devices are on different BANDS Sad to say that ISP's needed (because the user can't be relied upon) to Push Router updates WITHOUT Notice, and those can cause assignments to move. FWIW I used to be able to logon to my router and set Port Forwards. No longer: I must use their Web App |
