Calibre fails to convert

Hi, I am trying to convert AZW (Kindle) and docx-documents to epub. Normally this is absolutly no problem. But suddenly nothing works anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Calibre (both versions 32/64bit, no difference), run the fixing, no chance. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? The following info referres to the attempt to convert a word file into epub. (please excuse spelling errors, I'm not a native speaker ;-))

That's a permission error, something on your computer is interfering with calibre, see https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...n-denied-error

Hi,
what do you make of this info after installing calibre (32 and 64 bit) and clicking on finish?

"There is a problem with this windows installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personell or package vendor"

The info does not appear, if we disable "Launch Calibre" and start calibre from the menue.

We have downloaded the installation packages with all virus protection disabled.

Thank you for your help!

Where did you get the installer packages? Main Calibre site? Version 4.12 ?
Your A/V or ISP may have fixed the package

What is weird, is that it fails at the end (the Launch tick is showing). This may be a DLL rights issue. I wish they said WHICH DLL failed

I disabled all antivirus progs. (Malwarebites / Kaspersky). And I downloaded from original calibre site.
Downloaded 4.12, and, when that didn't install properly, deinstalled and installed 4.11. Same problem

We will need Kovid I think.
Try downloading from one of the ALTERNATE links just below the main one. That might rule out the ISP caching (a corrupted) the main download.

yeah, you guys are geniusses! I uninstalled calibre, deleated any and every file that hat to do with calibre, run the wise registry-cleaner, downloaded with edge instead of firefox and reinstalled. And everything is fine and working again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
