Kobo Auro one no overdrive icon (and I have read forums)
new kobo aura one
bought on ebay registered my account in usa with credit card updated firmware to newest overdrive is missing from accounts tech support for overdrive is the worst tech support ever, called them, what a joke. their solution was to return it for a new kobo. |

im so frustrated.
in affiliate.conf i have [General] affiliate=Kobo on rakuten whatever account i have a usa address and credit card also in usa on kobo site i also have a usa address and credit card |

im in los angeles CA
I have tried internet both though my tmobile hotspot and through time warner los angeles real los angeles address on the kobo accounts and billing address of credit card in los angeles too most disturbing was that support call. they may as well as shut down that support center. |

Have you reset your KA1 to factory default settings? I wonder if something wasn't initialized correctly when it was first set up. Overdrive should show up in Settings, second from the top.

just reset to factory default. no help.
called kobo support again, they literally refuse to help. their solution is i should return it to amazon and give up. no jokes. |

plus my unit has edge bleed.
honestly, compared to a kindle, this device is utter garbage. zero stars, very disappointed. |

Kobo Tech support is in Mexico City and while they try they can be trying at times. I have asked their location when contacting them and have always been told the individual is in Mexico City. They seem to have a rote routine for a given customer problem rather than actual thorough familiarity with the devices they are trying to support. No help if the problem is not a routine one in their menu options.
Since most companies have shipped their tech support overseas it has gone to hell compared to what it used to be. I first noted the deterioration when HP shipped their tech support overseas. I do not believe that Kobo Support actually said to return it to Amazon though as claimed in post #7, unless bought there. |

He may have simply misstated that (with his Kindle comparison still in mind) because he said in his first post that he bought the Kobo on eBay.

The problem you have is that because you bought the Kobo Aura ONE on eBay, you have no warranty. Kobo are not obligated to take it back and swap it out. If you cannot get it to work, then the only recourse is to contact the seller and try to return it or swap it (if the seller has any more). If the seller won't accept the return, then contact PayPay and if that fails, contact your credit card company.
