Hello from sunny Portugal!
Hi everyone!
I'm new to mobileread.... not really sure what I'm doing, actually! I'm a British author living in Portugal (since I was a kid). My new book, Raven, was released last week on amazon so I'm pretty excited as you can imagine! Not really sure what else I should be writing so, I guess I'll say goodnight for now! Thanks for reading |

One thing I like to say to authors is to look for under developed parts of the writing universe and stake a claim. Even consider combining different litterary generes to create a new one of your own. Here are some of what I mean:
Cop gets the killer, generally in modern litterature its a lawyer or a military lawyer or someone not professionally in law enforcement. 1) Paranormal romance - Great example is an old movie called Ghost staring Patrick Swayze. 2) How about a Humor Romance - An inspector Gaget type in an romance setting. 3) Write about something you know, since you are a writer yourself how about a writer that gets the killer or a writer in love. 4) Perhaps wrapping up several generes into one - Paranormal Humor Sci Fi thriller - that would be going after the terrorist in a future setting where the terrorist makes use of a future technology that allows use of paranormal powers with some humor thrown in here and there. |
