Sony PRS-T3 officially announced
Thanks to countless leaks there is hardly anything surprising left for Sony to announce with the PRS-T3. Either way, the Sony PRS-T3 is a fine device, as you can read in the press release.

Looks very nice, but do we have any info on pricing? Sony seem to always be out of touch when it comes to pricing, asking for a premium that the devices don't justify.

dictionaries
The press release speaks of 5 monolingual dictionaries and the Sony site lists only two (British / American English). I assume Europeans will have more dictionaries since the German video commented on the good dictionary.
Sony promised upcoming monolingual dictionaries to us buyers of T1 and T2 without ever making good on that promise, and if they were honest, they would make them available to us... |

It's strange. It almost looks as if the T3 launch was Europe-exclusive. Well, the announcement did happen in Germany. The Sony US website only shows the T2 so far...

That's a remarkably even lighting on that lighted cover. Is that actually possible, or is it just photoshopped? I expect the latter, to be honest.
As I said in other threads: it's a very nice reader... if it was 2011 right now. (In that case, the claim to high resolution would have actually meant something, compared to the competition.) |

It's probably been touched up, but the lighting looks pretty realistic to me. Very similar to what I get with a good clip-on light.

At least they've been sensible enough to decrease the price a little. Still, unless the lighted case only costs £10, it's going to end up being dearer than the new Paperwhite at £109.
There's a gallery of the lighted cover on the Sony UK website, no information on the cost of it though. Direct links to the full sized images in case anyone has any problems viewing the gallery on the website: http://sp.sony-europe.com/da/3456/19...c262b486e.jpeg http://sp.sony-europe.com/da/3112/76...12ea7bd3d.jpeg |

But it does come with a cover, which looks as though it offers decent protection. The Paperwhite at £109 is supplied with no cover at all and the official cover will set you back another £31.

Does anyone know whether it can charge from a USB charger or whether, like other Sony readers, it has to detect a computer on the end of the USB cable?
