Problems Converting Adobe Digital Editions PDF

Hi, trying to convert ADE pdfs from archive.org to mobi using Calibre. I can successfully convert their epub files but can't convert the pdfs of the books (which is what I prefer). The conversion occurs but the output looks like this attachment.

This has happened with every pdf I've tried to convert. At first I thought it was DRM, but now I don't know. Help?

Looks like it might be an image PDF.

most of their pdf's are picture scans. Guess the questioner had perceived that the other formats of this book was scrap and now he try to find luck with converting a pdf instead.

@Scotsman129, you need for this kind of pdf document an OCR and a lot of time for working with it. You will often find the original scanned uncompressed pictures in their links. That is then a better starting point if you really want to go that way.

It's not worth the hassle. Just find a different book to read or get this one in paper.
