Readonly Database
I am on Ubuntu Karmic Koala and have just installed Calibre 6.45
My library is called Calibre Library and I can't get calibre to import or convert any ebook. I have been trying since yesterday, have searched all posts with similar problems and tried suggested solutions to no avail. My library is in my $HOME and I have read and write permissiion. In admission, I am also the administrator so I can't understand why I am having this problem. Whenever I try to import any ebook, all I get is thiis error message: Code:
Living with SSD.html Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/kovid/build/calibre/src/calibre/gui2/add.py", line 114, in run File "/home/kovid/build/calibre/src/calibre/gui2/add.py", line 201, in add File "/home/kovid/build/calibre/src/calibre/library/database2.py", line 1554, in create_book_entry File "/home/kovid/build/calibre/src/calibre/library/sqlite.py", line 152, in run DatabaseException: attempt to write a readonly database RemoteTraceback (most recent call last): File "/home/kovid/build/calibre/src/calibre/library/sqlite.py", line 116, in run OperationalError: attempt to write a readonly database Calibre Library is owned by my user name seanbw with read/write access. Book I want to import is owned by me with read and write permission. What is wrong? Can anyone help as I really need to publish this book on my site. Can I also say that Calibre is awesome. i am trying to use Siigil as well but that is another story. |

I have specifically enabled /home/seanbw/Calibre Library/metadata.db with read and write access but no luck.

Calibre closed
I was about to post my cli response when I saw your response.
I did as you suggested and chose another library instead as I was afraid the folder was not ok. Anyway after running the wizard calibre closed. When I relaunched it, it worked so thank you very much. A record - problem solved .from first post. Woohooo |
