Device shutdown
My prs-300 is frozen completely, its not turning on/off, im guessing its dead. its frozen on the home page
I always device shutdown my reader when im finsihed reading, does that use up the battery more?? |

You could try resetting it and hitting the power switch a few times to see if that will bring it back. Or maybe charging it or connecting it to the computer.

Your habit should use less battery but I agree with shang, charge it. E-ink displays stay frozen if the device runs out of juice.

Had my ereader 2 days and it has frozen 5 times. this last time, nothing helps. back to the store it goes.

People who experience frequent lock-ups in the first couple of days frequently haven't let their device fully charge up. Keep that in mind with your new unit.

stupid question but when the battery is running out, how does it look on the reader because when mine froze it still had like 5 black bars showing??

If it discharges, say overnight, it will show exactly the same number of bars it did the last time you managed to turn a page. No information on the page changes separately. Otherwise we could have a clock display that works! Also make sure you're not running an MP3 continuously.

If you have a stuck reader, plugging it in to the USB may not work. USB really needs enough power to work. So if you need to, get a PSP or Sony reader charger. But if you do get a PSP charger, it has to be an AC type wth the barrel plug and not something that plugs into the USB port.
