Oh, it's changed quite a bit over the years, both the Mac version and the iOS version. The biggest issue that I have with the iOS version is, of course, audiobooks, but that change dates back to the introduction of iCloud. With the most recent release, adding the streaming music means that other controls were taken away. Albums seem to be handled differently. It could be if you don't have the streaming music service, you don't notice it as much.

If you mean the overall look and feel, yes, that hasn't changed significantly, but how you do various tasks has changed.
