calibre input/output error while starts to view a file
Hi,
I installed the "Open with" plugin yesterday, then when I start to view a epub file, the ebook-view shows errors as followed; when I start to view a pdf file, my pdf readr, evince, forks 8 windows each shows a error message:"cannot find such file or directory." But view through "Open with" do the job. So, anyone any advice? I run debian6 i386. calibre, version 0.8.12 ERROR: Could not open ebook: [Errno 5] Input/output error Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/viewer/main.py", line 64, in run File "threading.py", line 483, in run File "site-packages/calibre/ebooks/oeb/iterator.py", line 195, in __enter__ File "site-packages/calibre/customize/conversion.py", line 195, in __call__ File "site-packages/calibre/utils/logging.py", line 156, in __call__ File "site-packages/calibre/utils/logging.py", line 148, in prints File "site-packages/calibre/utils/logging.py", line 49, in prints File "site-packages/calibre/__init__.py", line 202, in prints IOError: [Errno 5] Input/output error Last edited by ccczzx; 08-04-2011 at 09:24 AM. |

That error indicates calibre is unable to print to stdout.

So? How to fix it?
I start it from urxvt, the epub files can be read then, but the pdfs remain the same, although there is only one "evince" started this time. Thanks, Kovid. Last edited by ccczzx; 08-05-2011 at 01:07 AM. |

Make sure that whatever system you are using to launch calibre handles stdout properly.

I am running debian 6 i386, the terminal is urxvt as mentioned, they should not have such problem as far as I know.
Is it relating to something else, such as a DE or a shell? I use dwm and fish shell in case it is related. Cheers! |
