iPod Touch 4G. No sound
I replaced the charging port on itouch 4g and it now charges and connects to itunes, but i have no sound, not from loud speaker not from the headphone port. When I go to play a song I hit play and it acts like its going to play it for like 3 seconds then goes back to pause and wont play it at all. And also, it won't stay off, when I power off the device, it turns on automatically after a minute. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE

You might try out the Apple support forums if no one here comes up with anything.
Addendum: Also, this may sound like a harsh suggestion and I'm sure you have already thought of it... but it might be time to retire the old boy. Maybe pick up a new iPod touch? Last edited by Anthem; 08-21-2015 at 07:37 PM. |

I'd suggest a full factory reset using iTunes. If that doesn't fix it then most likely the hardware is failing.

It does sound as if you might have damaged the circuit board while replacing the charging port. I doubt that it's fixable.

Thank you for your time guys. I did some research and I guess the sound IC is damaged by the heat.
