Question Headline and footer can be turned off?

I've read the Kobo shows a headline when reading Kobo ePus (KePubs) and I also see on screenshots a footer with the page but when reading non-Kobo ePubs copied with USB there is no headline and footer or can be turned off?

I've seen a second footer when light is turned on which can be black or transparent. I've also read some time ago that there should be an option which can turn off the second footer (light indicator). Is this option now available and is meant that you can completely turn the footer off or is meant you can turn it to transparent with a little lamp image is still shown?

As a conclusion: Would I be able to read with the Glo with light on/off without any headline/footer?
