The Mystery of Edwin Drood

I thinking of reading Dicken's unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Which is the best edition to get? Who wrote the best ending?

I've always been put off reading this because of the lack of an authentic ending. It's also very long - a big investment for no real conclusion.

IMO, none of the endings written by others are satisfactory. I would just read it as-is. I enjoyed it thoroughly when it was required reading in University and again when I read it years later. The lack of an ending is more fun as it lets the imagination run wild.
